SOOOO, things are crazy.

I'm working overtime this week,

my husband's going into the field and

leaving me all alone for three days (tear!),

and today my car died!

So, while I'm attempting not to pull my hair out,

just wanted to let you guys know that I'm still here,

and I have a tutorial coming up as soon as I get a second to breathe :)

Anyone else having a way-too-insane week?

So, I've a new addiction.

It's called Heartsy and it's brilliant.

For those of you who appreciate

the beauty that is Etsy.com,

So, lots and lots has been happening....
school, new job (nanny to three adorably silly kids) :

and now finally, I'm on vacation!
For the first time in over a year I'm in
SC at my grandmothers house and I already feel better.

Sometimes you just have to take a break, you know?

I slept the entire drive here...
I must not be getting enough sleep during the week :P
Althought I'm sure passing out at the
blood drive on Tuesday didn't help much!
(that's yet ANOTHER story for another day ;P)

Exhaustion still abounds however,
and yes, even on vacation,
I have tons of homework to do tomorrow,

so I'm think about calling it quits early tonight.

There are so very many makeup and cosmetic companies in the world,
but Urban Decay is hands down my favorite when it
comes to eyeshadows and eye makeup in general.

The colors and packaging are crazy cool,
and the eyeshadows last FOREVER.
Not only on your eyes, but also in the package...
I've had the pallet featured below for over a year
and have yet to use it all up.

The pigments are so rich and most have the most amazing sparkle.
Used in conjunction with the eyeshadow primer potion (their most popular item),
it lasts ALL day.
Literally.

I'm basically going to be a nanny for a family of three adorable children.
It's exactly what I've been praying for.
It's going to totally work with school,

Firstly, I had no idea it would arrive so soon!

I gave KindOverMatter my address just a few days ago and it's already here :)

It came wrapped in tissue paper, tied with a cute striped string and little orange button.
Upon opening, I realize it's much too large to just be a notecard holder, and it was!

On top of the custom notecard holder,
(which says: there's a tough word on your crossword),
they've also sent me a steno-pad holder complete
with steno-pad, pencil,
and the cutest felt-acorn postcards I've ever seen :)

Victoria's Secret Love Spell

This stuff is like heaven in a bottle.
And 102% of men agree.

I'm addicted to the entire collection of Love Spell products.
Lotions, bubble bath, eu de parfum, body spray, hand sanitizer etc.
(now including shampoo, conditioner, and hairspray...my favorite part :P)

It's like a citrus candy scent,
but one that won't make you think of Barbie :)
And apparently, it's aptly named,
because I've yet to meet a man that doesn't adore it.

The best part is that almost 100% of the products in this line are each under $12,
so you can smell good, AND not have to break open the piggy bank to do so ;)

American Apparel's Unisex Flex-Fleece Hoodie

These hoodies probably hit my top three favorites.
SUPER soft. Great fit.

Words really can't express the luxury of these things.
I live in them.
Winter. Summer. Fall. Spring.
They're perfect for just about any occasion
(except formal ones, of course :) but even then....lol)

They have tons of colors and sizes,
but they recommend getting a size smaller
than you think you need and I agree.
I usually wear a small, but the extra small fits me best.

This is on my list of "birthday wants" :)
(you can't have too many of them!)

Favorite #3 - L'Oreal Extra-Volume Mascara

Firstly, I just have to say, school has begun.
Thus, these posts are most likely going to be
every other day (as they have been so far :P)

With that said, let me introduce you
to #3 on my list of 15 favorites...

L'Oreal Extra-Volume Collagene Mascara

Since it's relatively new to the cosmetic scene,
I only just purchased this mascara last week,
but let me tell you...
it does it all.

It has a super-sized ergonomical brush
that separates, lengthens, darkens, volumizes with collagen,
AND catches ALL the tiny corner hairs that are so hard to grab ;)
All of that, with no clumping.

It took me two coats to get my lashes as volumized as I like them to be,
but the very best part about this mascara was that it DOES NOT flake.
I wear it all day and by the evening my lashes still look
exactly the same as they did when I put it on.
No shadows of mascara particles under my eyes to be seen.

And that, to me and to anyone else
that suffers from having chronic
dark circles to contend with, is magical.

This stuff is just as good as anything you'd spend $40-$50 on
in a department store or beauty chain, but only costs about $7.

Plus the tube itself is pretty.

I mean, what's not to like?

(and my apologies for taking an extra day to post this one!)

OK, I know what you're probably thinking.

Rose scented lotion that actually smells good? Right.

ACTUALLY, it does.
Heavenly, in fact.

I'm not really a floral sort of person,
(my sister Looler says that there are
three types of people in the world...
floral, fruity, and cookie.
Guess which one I am? :P)
but this body milk is simply beautiful.

It smells like actual roses for a change,
because it has actual rose oil in it.
It makes your skin fantastically soft
without being greasy because it's mostly lotion.

And the best part.....it's ORGANIC :)
The Body Shop also supports community trade
and they're against animal testing!

They also have several other products in the same scent like too.
You should definitely look into this one.

Today was spent doing absolutely nothing.

I DID however, shower :)
and I watched lots of TV and internet shows with Superman,
ate way too much food,
and stayed in my room the majority of the day.

Except for the excursion to Starbucks to pick up an application.
Looler said she spoke with her manager and they just might have a job for me!

This is a good thing.

And thus ends the second to last day before my vacation is over...
tomorrow is the last morning I have to sleep in for a WHILE.
I can tell you right now, I will thoroughly enjoy it.
And hopefully tomorrow afternoon SaraSophia and I
can get the tutu finished we've been working on for a client
to deliver tomorrow night :P

But now, I must sleep.
Seeing as how it's already LATE LATE LATE.

Day #1 - LUSH Blackberry Bath Bomb

When I decided to do the 15 days of my favorite things,
the very first thing that popped into my head was LUSH Cosmetics.

Roughly four years ago I came across this amazing company,
and to this day, I'm still not sure how I actually discovered them,
(I'm pretty sure it was in a magazine somewhere, but who knows :P)
but I DO know that they are definitely in my top five favorite companies EVER.
My sisters and I are thoroughly addicted to all of their products,
but there is one item that makes my list of 15 favorites...

LUSH calls this an "uplifting berry burst of goodness" and that's EXACTLY what it is.
For those of you who don't know what a bath bomb is,
it's a delightful little ball of fizz that you drop into your bath
to not only scent the bathwater,
but also contains skin softeners that, in the case of LUSH, really do work!
This one turns the water a beautiful purple, and makes your skin so soft.
You'll also step out of the bath smelling so good
you won't be able to stop sniffing yourself :P
Your clothes will smell good, your bathroom will smell good...
I just can't tell you enough how freaking amazing this bath bomb smells.
I go so far as to put these in my underwear drawer before I use them :P

I was trying to think of a way to integrate some reviews of my favorite things into my blog, and somehow commit myself to posting here more often. I know when I have something to say, the words come easily enough, but I generally tend to go weeks in between postings because I just can't think of something I want to say that would be worth taking the time to talk about.

SO, in light of all of that, I've decided to kick start my blog a bit more than I already have, by doing a little thing I've decided to call "15 Days of My Favorite Things". Basically, I'm going to take 15 days and on each day, let you all know about something I personally love in the cosmetic/beauty industry, and why said thing is worth your time to try it out. Be it makeup, cosmetics, or even clothing and shoes, I want to let all of you know about some of the wonderful things I've come across in my years of addiction to all things beautiful :)

Being sick, and bored, and stuck at home watching old Amanda Bynes movies has reminded me of one (or several) crucial fact(s) about myself that I had long since forgotten.

I am goofy.
I am weird.

Do you ever get the itch to JUST GO SHOPPING,
only you're waiting on the debit card that your school was supposed to get to you LAST WEEK (which, by the way, they've just informed you that they hadn't even sent off for it yet),
so not only can you not shop,
or get pedicures (because this WILL happen),
but you can't even buy gas.

And "online window shopping" only makes you more irritated,
because you don't know if you wear a small or a medium,
because you gained weight.
So you need to be able to go to the actual store and try items on.

But you can't.
Because that would mean driving to Atlanta.
Which requires money.
Which you have none of because, as I believe I mentioned earlier,
your stupid school lied to you.

AGAIN.

I do not know what this entry will be about,
I know only that I must say things,

and there is no one to listen.

I am sitting at work.
I shouldn't be writing,
I should be working,
but I am terribly, terribly tired of work,
and things that don't matter,
and I am twiddling my thumbs,
waiting for CSU to decide wether or not they want me.

It's possible that they would have already decided,
but I haven't had time to turn in my GED yet,
so who knows if they've even begun.

It is very difficult to get paperwork to the Registrar's office when you get off work at 4:30pm and the office closes at 5:00pm...and you are 20 minutes away.

No one likes the girl who shows up at closing time asking to be helped.

I feel so......strangled.

Not enough time to do anything important,
and the money I'm making seems to dwindle away before I even receive it.

I want to scream.

Dan and I are having dinner tonight with a couple that he met through a band or a venue or something. They are very interesting, fun people, and I've been around them and talked to them loads of times, but I am nervous. The little pod of Buvy that sits in the back of my brain and sprouts a new leaf everytime I come in contact with anything requiring manners is telling me to bake cookies or something to take, which I will do.....

after work, of course.
And hope I get it done in time.

But I can only hope that the evening will be fun,
and not just awkward.

Why do I still feel like a kid playing dress up when I do these things?

I am stepping out my shell though,
and not even admitting to being nervous.

It usually quells most of the inner shakes I get from going new places,
and no one ever really knows just how nervous I am.

I am very good at that game.

I should at least have a new vest to wear,
because the package I ordered from Forever 21 should be here very soon...
It is grey and pretty and will make me feel better (the vest, not the package).

I just finished reading a series of books for the second time.
Seeing as how I re-realized (:P) how great they are,

I wanted to share them with whoever's out there.

If you're into sci-fi, and don't mind a bit of younger characters,
these books are fantastic.
Super entertaining,
a completely original concept,
you just can't put them down.

I recommend you go buy or borrow all four of them.

I think I've decided that you (yes, you.), are quite possibly the only thing I aspire to be in life. Besides of course, trying to be more Christ-like and whatnot. But seriously. You inspire me. I sit and I tire of my humdrum daily life (the part before I get home to him, of course), and I am throughly resentful and jealous and pouting.

I sometimes can't remember what I'm doing.

I need to clean out my car,
I need to pack my few remaining belongings,
I need to buy more things for the shop,
I need to just sit in the sun.

But the sun seems to have gone hibernating,
and all I want to do is put on a yummy sweater like yours,
and curl up with a cupcake and loads of icecream and doritos,
and watch things.

Namely Gilmore.
I miss them and I miss you,
and if it weren't for a certain Superman we all know and love,
I swear I'd be forced to hang myself from the rafters and just get it over with.

All is mostly dumb and it's chipping away at my happy place.

So much so, in fact,
that the thought of throwing caution to the wind,
and just hauling ass (pardon my french) back to Thomaston sounds really appealing.

I would move in with you and become a bum.
Or maybe your nanny.

But I would miss him too much,

I tell myself that no, I will not start a new blog. I will not because I have a perfectly good one over there. You remember, right? Livejournal or whatever it's called. I am, however, very good at the whining and so I end up convincing myself that maybe I DO need a new one, just for a little while, because this one is much prettier than whats-its-face over there.
