Requiem for a dream.

A swallowed storm from the inside,
so passive and calm the exterior,
that the languid gaze,
places held,
a smile fixed ever so carefully,
every line delivered exactly as it was written,
so the story marches to the same tired drum.
it doesn’t really matter now,
the prize,
the fire,
unwon.
the sun set,
the moon hidden behind the clouds,
so that not even the stars shine bright enough,
to glow through the haze of buried treasure.
shriveled,
crumpled,
paper worlds,
that never even left the pages,
never had a chance to sink oceans in their wake.
gone before they ever were.

you were everything,
you were mine,

and you never really existed.

Runnnnnnning on empty....

SOOOO, things are crazy.
I'm working overtime this week,
my husband's going into the field and
leaving me all alone for three days (tear!),
and today my car died!

So, while I'm attempting not to pull my hair out,
just wanted to let you guys know that I'm still here,
and I have a tutorial coming up as soon as I get a second to breathe :)

Anyone else having a way-too-insane week?

Style Hunt Tuesday.

So, the husband and I went shopping today,
and I just have to say, that Old Navy is extremely underrated.
They had some of the cutest clothes today, especially dresses.

Below are just a few of the great things I found.
Check out the sales they have online right now too!

Have you found any great things
at an under-appreciated store lately?

Shabby Apple Overboard Dress Giveaway

So, Grosgrain has done it again.
They have posted an ADORBALE dress from Shabby Apple to giveaway.

I fell in love with Shabby Apple last year when my sister
won a dress from them on another site's giveaway.
They're so 40's inpired and you just feel like a pin-up girl wearing one
(the classy, demure, 40's style pin-up, of course. Nothing raunchy.)

Shabby Apple's new line of nautical dresses and skirts
are so classy and adorable. You'll fall in love at one glance. I know I did.

Check out the giveaway here: Shabby Apple Overboard Dress Giveaway
and maybe you'll be the lucky winner!

Plus, Grosgrain is offering a 10% discount code
at Shabby Apple if you just can't stand it
and have to go buy one for yourself :)

Now I said my ABCs.

This was stolen from my lovely friend Heather,
and it is definitely a blast from the past filling it out :)
I remember a million of these I filled out
for my livejournal back in the day.
Care to have a little fun and fill it out in return?

Come on. You know you want to ;)

Treasures for less.

So, I've a new addiction.

It's called Heartsy and it's brilliant.

For those of you who appreciate
the beauty that is Etsy.com,
allow me to introduce to you a better way
to browse and find lovely things on Etsy.

Heartsy features different Etsy artists,
and allows you to purchase "vouchers"
that can be used at that particular merchant's Etsy shop.

The kicker, as they say, is that each voucher is worth
a fraction of what you pay for it,
so you're basically buying gift certificates
to Etsy shops for less.

Why would any sane artist do this, you ask?
Well, it's simple: promotion.
You like what they have,
you come back for more.
Only this way,
you don't have to spend a fortune to do so.

The best part is that if you purchase
a VIP membership for $7 and some change,
you get an even bigger voucher
for the same amount of money.

I've been on Heartsy for three days now,
and I've already purchased two vouchers.
It's crazy easy and so much fun.

I dare you to try it.

long time no see, eh?

Hi there.

So, I've been on hiatus.

That's what I'm calling it, at least,
but it involved a break up,
three moves, a job change,
a career choice, a meeting,
and a marriage to a wonderful man.

Needless to say, life is good.

And at the urging of my lovely sister,
I'm back to share with you all again.

Look for more sparkles,
less mopeyness,
(yes, that's a word. I checked.)
and way more fun ;)

You. No. Longer. Matter.

I want things to stop changing.
Progress.
Digress.
Even when it's so much better,
there's still a part of me that feels so detached until the new,
becomes familiar,
and I am no longer faced with anything from before.
And every time thoughts of what was,
or the words of people come and gone,
those who were once so very much a part of my life,
are staring me in the face,
especially when it takes me by surprise,
I just wish I could erase memories.
Those that hurt.
Those that remind me of what was,
all the good, and all the pain.
They are no longer a part of my world.

I only want what I have.
The beautiful man in my life,
the world we've created together,
even in such a short time,
and I wish for all the rest to fade away,
disappear,
and leave me in peace.

Please,
just leave me in peace.

And so we've come full circle.

The sky fell today.

And I sat, and I fell apart,
and somehow it seems like we've been here before.

Dear lifeunreliable,
Where did I go wrong?

But the better question is . . .

where do we go from here?

M.I.A.

Hey guys,
I'm sorry for the horrible posting timing,
and for saying I would post things that I haven't,
but I have to go on a bit of a hiatus for now.

I'll be back for good eventually,
and I'll pop in every now and then when I get the chance,
but there's too much happening in my life right now to think.

I don't want to think.
I don't really want to do anything right now.

I'm sorry
, but I'll be back.

See you on the flip side.

Fall is.

That first breath of fall air,
that randomly hit me throughout the day today,
renews something inside of me
that's been dormant since summer started.

Don't get me wrong,
I love the summer sun,
and the beaches,
and the freckles popping out on my skin,

but it is fall I love the best.

Fall with it's crisp air
and brightly colored leaves
that herald the holidays to come.

Fall is beautiful.
Fall is magic.

Fall is here.

Guess what I'm doing?

Packing for Type-A Mom Con!

SaraSophia, my mother,
and I are headed to Asheville, NC wednesday :)

I am super super excited.

It's been so long since I've been
anywhere with "the girls",
and I SO need the vacation,
even with the mini one I just had :P

In addition to the conference,
we're touring Asheville along
with the beautiful Biltmore Estate:

It's going to be so much fun :)

Is anyone else attending?

Oh, Summer.

It was lovely,
but now it's over.

And with it, my 21st year.

Friday was my birthday (which was fantastic, btw),
and even though I've been swamped with homework,
housework, and life in general,
my lovely Superman and my darling sister
SaraSophia took me camping.

The following is a few snapshots of our night...
(created by SaraSophia)
Enjoy!

P.s. Another favorite SOON, I promise!
That is if September doesn't kill me first :P

Not-so-wordless Wednesday.

I have officially become overwhelmed.

I have TWO major exams tomorrow,
work/church tonight,
AND I haven't studied nearly as much as I need to.

Who knew school full time + a job would be so darn difficult?

I will be updating tomorrow afternoon (hopefully),
and will be replying to everyone's lovely comments then :)

Have a fantastic wednesday!

is up for grabs at Just for Me...And You

I hadn't ever seen AmyKathryn bags until I saw this post,

They're definitely worth a look at,
and you could even win the one pictured above by
going to JFM&Y's Giveaway!

Vacations are yummy.

Summer Vacation, originally uploaded by Little Rosy Runabout.

So, lots and lots has been happening....
school, new job (nanny to three adorably silly kids) :

and now finally, I'm on vacation!
For the first time in over a year I'm in
SC at my grandmothers house and I already feel better.

Sometimes you just have to take a break, you know?

I slept the entire drive here...
I must not be getting enough sleep during the week :P
Althought I'm sure passing out at the
blood drive on Tuesday didn't help much!
(that's yet ANOTHER story for another day ;P)

Exhaustion still abounds however,
and yes, even on vacation,
I have tons of homework to do tomorrow,

so I'm think about calling it quits early tonight.

A lovely evening to all.

Favorite #6 - Urban Decay

There are so very many makeup and cosmetic companies in the world,
but
Urban Decay is hands down my favorite when it
comes to eyeshadows and eye makeup in general.

The colors and packaging are crazy cool,
and the eyeshadows last FOREVER.
Not only on your eyes, but also in the package...
I've had the pallet featured below for over a year
and have yet to use it all up.

The pigments are so rich and most have the most amazing sparkle.

Used in conjunction with the eyeshadow primer potion (their most popular item),
it lasts ALL day.
Literally.
And right now they're holding a special on their site
for a free sample of the potion with any purchase!

They also have a whole line of vegan items too!

You have to check out the entire line if you've never looked at them before.

They're to die for ;)
