An ode to my twin sister, Amanda.

Being sick, and bored, and stuck at home watching old Amanda Bynes movies has reminded me of one (or several) crucial fact(s) about myself that I had long since forgotten.

I am goofy.
I am weird.
I am not poised,
or composed,
or mature,
but that's ok.

I am strange,
and silly,
and sometimes a little manly.

But that's ok.

There is someone in the world who will love me for precisely that.
And if you already know me,
and do not love me for the oddity that I am,
I do not want you in my life.

I will continue to take five hours to get dressed,
only to end up wearing the wrong thing,
and saying the wrong thing,
and painting my nails funky colors,
and changing my hair at least once a week,

but that is me.

And if you do not like it,
and will not love me in spite of,
or because of all my abnormalities,
then you can just go home.
I do not need you in my life.

I am proud of the weirdo I've become.

And you should be too.

  1. you are my one. true.

    i like it all.

    The man-part.
    The doll-hair.
    The obsessing.
    The eating.
    The love of chick-lit.

and if anyone is stupid enough to not love you back--they need to call me for a healthy serving of whoop ass, yo.

Speak your mind! I'm always happy to hear what you've got to say and I read each and every comment :)
